Interior Roll-Up Solar Shades
Imagine sitting in your nice cool, west-facing room in the morning, enjoying the view. Now picture yourself in the same room a few hours later, with the afternoon sun turning the room into a low-grade sauna…
In this kind of situation, it would be nice to be able to change your windows from clear to reflective at different times of day. Flexibility of this sort can’t be achieved with ordinary window shades, but it’s a snap with roll-up Solar Shades made with CPFilms Shade Film, or Phifer SunScreen, Phifer SheerWeave or Louvolite fabrics. The choice of colour and material depends on the effect you want to achieve.
Solar Shades are also used in non-residential applications, such as restaurants, stores, security offices, and gas stations where excessive heat and/or glare is a problem at certain times of day, but where unobstructed vision in both directions is otherwise required

Solar Shade Materials
SuperTint interior roll-up Solar Shades can be made with CPFilms Shade Film, Phifer SunScreen, Phifer SheerWeave or Louvolite materials.
Silver film reflects the most heat; because of the shiny appearance, these shades are the most noticeable when viewed from inside or out. Grey and grey/silver shades have the lowest light transmission, which provides the greatest relief from glare. Amber film allows visibility from both sides. Shades with grey/silver film are installed with the grey side facing in, keeping interior reflection at a minimum.
Phifer SunScreen or SheerWeave are attractive, durable, vinyl-coated, fibreglass fabrics, used extensively across North America for sun control in all types of buildings. They are available in a variety of designer colours, shades and weaves.
All materials used to make SuperTint’s roll-up Solar Shades can be washed with a soft cloth and a mild soap-and-water solution.
All SuperTint roll-up shades use Louvolite® clutch-and-beaded-chain actuators. These can be on either the right or left side, and have proven to be quiet, attractive, and very reliable.
SuperTint interior roll-up Solar Shades are warranted against defective materials and components for one full year from date of installation.
Exterior and Skylight SunScreens
SuperTint’s SunScreens are installed on the exterior of both residential and non-residential buildings, where it is not possible or practical to use interior roll-up Solar Shades or to apply film to the glass. Examples of this are overhead skylights, non-glass windows, rental accomodations, etc.
SunScreens block the sun’s heat and glare before it hits your windows or glass doors. It’s like having a shade tree in front of your window without blocking the view. Exterior shading is a very effective way to block solar heat gain in buildings, as up to 70% of the sun’s heat and glare is reflected, absorbed, and dissipated before it gets to the window.
SuperTint exterior SunScreens are warranted against defective materials and components for one full year from date of installation.
